EXTRA INFORMATION
WHERE CAN I WITHDRAW MONEY?
In Tokyo, there are ATMs everywhere. However, most of them do not accept foreign cards- even if they bear Visa or Mastercard logos. When you need to withdraw money you can do so at Post offices, Seven Eleven convenience stores or CityBank ATMs.
WHEN IS THE BEST PERIOD TO GO TO TOKYO?
Tokyo summers can be hot and muggy, winters rather cold, so the better seasons for visiting Japan are the spring and fall– March to May and September to November. The city is particularly picturesque in March and April when cherry trees are in blossom.
LOCAL CUSTOMS
Japanese people are very reserved and formal, and have a strict etiquette system. Foreigners are expected to behave politely, even if, generally, small mistakes are forgiven. Bowing is the customary greeting and you can also bow to say thank you or to apologize. Some over-the counter medicines, particularly for allergies and sinus problems, are forbidden under Japanese law. Please check with the embassy before traveling.
